Talking all things nonprofit fundraising and strategy - through the lens of psychology.

Hi there, my name is Bonnie Hough and I am the founder of Banyan Nonprofit Strategy and the writer behind the Banyan Bulletin.

I am what I like to call a non-profit do-it-all-er - whether it’s fundraising, organizational strategy, or marketing - you name it, I’ve done it. My background is in small shops where I had to do a bit of everything. I always loved the variety that came with working in the nonprofit world - but I didn’t love the feeling of overwhelm that came with never knowing where to focus our efforts for the most impact.

I now consult and freelance offering fundraising, marketing & grant writing support to small-but-mighty nonprofit teams, when and how they need it. If you’d like to find out more about the services I offer, you can head here.

My goal with the Banyan Bulletin to explore how nonprofits can fundraise smarter and plan with the long term in mind so they can grow with intention. I’m a bit of a psychology nerd, so mental health topics pop into my writing and my perspectives quite a bit.

If this sounds like it could be of value to you or your team, I’d love it if you subscribed!
